Some of my pictures tell about Brazil. About Rio Claro city, where I have been living. Sunday morning I went to buy the newspaper at a kiosk in the middle of the central square.

Here one finds many trees. I am fascinated by this little piece of the Amazon rainforest. The square is filled with people, colours, stalls, statues, dogs, fountains, and benches. In my paintings, however, most of it grows into abstractions.

On Sundays, there is a matinee at the square. People are sitting around and enjoying the music, the sun, and each other. Some couples are dancing in the shade of the trees. It looks like they have been dancing there since they were young. In some of my pictures I have painted blue dancing trees.
